In 2024, between Lachplesa, Satekles, Visvalzha and Birznieka-Upisa streets, the construction of a new "green" project will begin. The developer is the Estonian investment company Estmak Capital.
The total area of the Lachplesa quarter will be almost 60,000 square meters. The project inclused construction of 600 new apartments, as well as commercial premises with an area of 14,000 sq.m.
Lāčplēša kvartāls will be a multifunctional public open space - pedestrian-oriented alley and square where events can be held.
The quarter is located in a former industrial area, so it will preserve the historical industrial heritage and style. For example, one of the central elements of the quarter will be a 19th-century chimney. The buildings and facades will use imitation of historical bricks with a stylistically appropriate color palette.
The construction of the quarter will begin in 2024 and will last 7-10 years.
