Michelin is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of the very first MICHELIN Guide for Latvia on November 21, 2023. Our dedicated MICHELIN Guide Inspectors have been hard at work, exploring the rich gastronomic landscape of Latvia, the second-largest of the Baltic States. This addition, following Estonia's inclusion last year, underscores the remarkable evolution of the region's culinary scene in recent years.
Our Inspectors embarked on a gastronomic odyssey, traveling from the vibrant capital, Riga, with its UNESCO-protected Old Town, to picturesque countryside villages. They ventured to coastal gems like Liepāja, gracing the western shores of the Baltic Sea, and Jurmala, nestled along the Gulf of Riga. Inland, they discovered the hidden culinary treasures of towns and villages, from Tērvete to Līgatne and Valmiera to Cēsis. Their mission? To unearth the finest dining establishments that Latvia has to offer.
Just like every other guide in the Michelin collection, the selection for Latvia has been meticulously curated by our professional and impartial Michelin Inspectors.
